Orus was founded by former Partech executives seeking to create a neo-insurance company focused on restaurant owners and other small companies to offer easy-to-use, transparent, and responsive insurance services.
Orus faced the challenge of building the first version of their product, designed to offer a more straightforward, transparent, and responsive insurance experience for small businesses, starting with restaurateurs.
They required Mozza's expertise to develop a user-friendly digital platform that included a subscription funnel and a client management space, aiming for high UX efficiency within a tight time-to-market. This challenge was compounded by the need to validate the market fit for their focus on the restaurant industry and integrate Orus closely into the user experience research phase to enhance their understanding and capabilities in this area.
The project with Orus involved several phases.
UXR (User Experience Research)
Initiated deep dives into defining the target persona and understanding their unique insurance needs, leading to prioritized features and messaging on the platform.
Product strategy
We built a complete product strategy detailing the vision, market positioning, target audience, key features and differentiation.
UX Design
Brought to life high-fidelity designs of the platform's screens, aiming for an intuitive user experience that welcomes feedback and iterations.
User Tests
This step helped us to ensure that the features and design developed beforehand would be suitable for Orus' target audience. We conducted 7 interviews with potential customers (attended by members of the Orus team), who were all restaurant owners. We shared a low-fidelity prototype with them and asked them to complete a series of key actions. Each step was then rated from 1 to 7 by the user, allowing us to prioritise the elements to be reworked.
UI Design
Finalized the product's visual identity, selecting a UI style that embodies Orus's brand and can be seamlessly extended in future developments.
The collaboration in the development and launch of Orus's first insurance product for small businesses, particularly restaurateurs, affirmed the company's strategic vision but also confirmed a strong market demand for innovative insurance solutions.
This significant milestone was further highlighted by Orus's successful fundraising. Indeed, in July 2022, the company raised an $11.6 million Series A funding round (€11 million), making it one of France's leading insurtech start-ups.
